Punk music itself may take many forms, both over its history and at any given point in time, but underlying it all there has always been the underdog story of a genre struggling to be heard while often being perceived as barely legitimate. True to this story, In The Meantime and Order 66 met in the most appropriate of ways, playing the same all ages Sunday matinee show at a Chinese food restaurant in Cambridge, MA.
For these bands, the love of punk music and the community associated has always been enough incentive to play any show, no matter how odd the setting may seem. Both bands themselves being groups of old friends, a new friendship formed as they continued to invite each other to play shows they had set up (themselves of course – DIY whoo!).
It was only a matter of time before a split record would emerge, and finally here it is. Titled “Banana Split” with a physical release on March 10th 2015 on their own “G-Town Records” (an independent label run by members of In The Meantime), ITM and O66 give you 9 songs of high energy scorching melodic punk that will make Blink 182 fans everywhere no longer care that Tom is out of the band and apparently in communication with aliens.
